YLEAD Conference
About
Since 2010, River Valley High School (RVHS) has been organizing leadership seminars to prepare its cohort of students with the competencies that are essential for the twenty-first century. Over the years, Y.LEAD, the school’s leadership program, has attracted both local and overseas student participants for an educative yet fun summer experience where participants bond and connect.
The Y.LEAD Seminar is a week-long event comprising of a 15-Hour Challenge, Panel Discussions, and several learning journeys, designed to facilitate experiential learning. At the same time, it is a platform for teenagers (rising sophomores) from various schools in Singapore and different parts of Eastern Asia to acquire a heightened awareness of global social challenges, a values-based understanding of the role of leaders and a useful set of leadership skills. This trip is an amazing opportunity for students to experience Singapore through a week of fun and challenges at one of the country’s most prestigious schools. The trip will revolve primarily around the conference, but will include a couple day and night trips of going out to explore the wonders of Singapore.

About River Valley High School
River Valley is one of the top secondary/high schools in Singapore offering a Grade 7-12 Integrated Science Program. The Integrated Program is one of the Singapore Ministry of Education initiatives which is designed for students in the top 10% of each educational cohort.
In 2010 RVHS formed the Science Leaders Academy (SLA) cohort based on their visits to BCA. The SLA, exposes Singaporean students to working with students from different nationalities on a wide range of science related projects. The Singaporean ministry have secured services of several university researchers (in the fields of biology, physics and engineering) to be mentors for these projects. BCA ans SLA students are currently in the process of exploring the possibility of forming student project teams which will work on meaningful and manageable projects under the guidance of these mentors. It is our hope through YLEAD that the exchange will grow into viable collaborations for the years to come.About Singapore
You will get the chance to visit the most iconic sights in Singapore, such as Marina Bay Sands, Gardens by the Bay, Night Safari, Merlion Park, Little India, Asian Civilization Museum, and more!
